In January 2024 we launched the WiZmed Foundation, which helps medical students with equipment subsidies so that they can train with quality equipment. You can support it by adding a donation to your order at checkout, and we match it.
Cape Town, South Africa, 3 January 2024. WiZmed was started by UCT medical students Ashraf Moosa and Waheed Amanjee. Looking back on a year of growth, we set out a heartfelt vision for 2024, with the Foundation at its centre.
How to support the Foundation

Why a Foundation
Good equipment makes a difference to how you learn on the wards, and not every student can afford it. The WiZmed Foundation is a step to champion medical students with equipment subsidies so that they can train with quality equipment.

2023: a leap forward
Our journey in 2023 was marked by a few milestones:
- Scrubs: we launched a new line of functional, stylish medical scrubs. Read about WiZ Scrubs.
- Community: significant involvement in charitable initiatives, including contributions to healthcare projects and the successful ‘Socks for Docs’ mental health campaign.
- Personal touch: we introduced embroidery services for a custom WiZmed experience.
