Choosing a long-sleeve underscrub
An underscrub adds warmth and arm cover under a scrub top. Ours are cotton with a little stretch, made in South Africa.
Why cotton and not polyester?
The 95% cotton feels soft and breathes well, and the 5% elastane lets it move and spring back instead of bagging at the elbows. The trade-off is that cotton absorbs sweat rather than wicking it, so it is not a technical base layer. For long ward shifts it is comfortable; for a hot theatre list, layer thin. The high crew neck sits cleanly under a V-neck scrub top.
Which size should I take?
It runs fitted so it lies flat under your top. If you like your scrub top true to size, take the same size here, or size up for a looser layer. The sleeves are extra long, so they push up past the elbow when you wash your hands and cover your wrists on cold nights.

Before you buy
Will the underscrub shrink?
Wash it cold and tumble dry on low or hang it, and it holds its shape and length. High heat damages elastane, so avoid a hot tumble dry.
Which colours are available?
Black, White, Grey, Navy, Sky Blue, Mint, Bottle Green, Maroon and Cerise, the same nine for men and women.
Can I wear it without a scrub top?
Yes. The neckline and cuffs are finished to look right on their own, so plenty of people wear theirs to class.
